Description

was a cool summer’s evening, all was calm and ideal for such. Even the skies were gloriously clear, completely devoid from clouds. It seemed to gently fade hues from pink to sun kissed orange. It was a lovely break from the severe heat temperatures that dwelled the daylight with it’s inescapable wrath that seemed to dry the lands and the main water source. Lately, all seemed dull dues to this dreadful drought that was consuming nearly everything. The late evenings and early mornings were the only times of temporary reprieve anyone could obtain.

On this evening, most of the herds were beginning to settle in for the night and gather up on some much needed rest, however, over at the Dackle herd it wasn’t so quiet. Magnum was still hard at work, keeping everyone in line and assuring the others were working just as hard as he. At the time, Pain and her friends were all hard at work, as they had been all day long foraging for a thriving life source of grassland that could withstand the herd for several more days. All had nearly dried up and turned to dust.
Everyone was very tired by this time, and no one was working very hard, except for Pain and her gang.

“This is ridiculous!” Gage shouted impatiently as he started walking back towards the herd, clearly not wanting to keep scavenging about the dirt for grass roots he would never find.

“Gage, wait! Don’t go, we need your help too, you know. I thought we were all supposed to be a team?” Pain said a bit saddened by his choice of absence. Her ears fell off to the sides dejectedly.

He turned back to look at her as he paused several feet away. His ears perking towards her for a moment. “Look, you guys are more than welcomed to stand around looking for dead sprouts of grass that you probably won’t even find, and if you actually do, all the others will just barge in and eat it before you even get a chance to. Doesn’t seem right or fair to me, so no thank you!” He snorted and started walking on. “I’ll catch you guys later.” He said as he trot back to the herd.

G-Money shook his head to himself and continued moving on short spaces as he gently pawed at the ground for food. Chandler and Pain watched after Gage until he completely faded from their sights. Both returned to their work.

“Why does he always have to be like that?” Pain asked a few minutes later, her eyes were calm.

“Ah, probably cause he’s just lazy and doesn’t want to work. Besides, the dude’s emo, so what do you expect? He is prone to change at any given time, that’s what you get with a guy like him.” Chandler said as he nod his head and continued searching.

Pain frowned at his answer, she thought he was being a little stereotypical over Gage, but didn’t voice that opinion.

The three worked on for another hour, all were completely wore out by this point, however, Pain and G-Money seemed to be enjoying doing this together, even though they weren’t trying hard anymore, they seemed to be just looking for an excuse to be out together and away from the herd.

“Hey, are you guys ready to head back to the herd? I’m totally bushed, man. Like seriously come on!” Chandler said as he pant rapidly from exhaustion.

G-Money looked to Pain and she shook her head, disagreeing with Chandler. G-Money also proceeded in shaking his head to him as well. Chandler frowned for a minute at the two.

“Dude, aren’t you guys tired at all? I am so tired I can hardly breathe.” His eyes were frenetic, he knew that if they wanted to keep working he would have to do the same.

“It’s alright Chandler, you can go back to the herd and let them know me and G will stay out a little longer and search for some water.” Pain smiled gently towards Chandler in a reassuring manner. She gave a light nod and he proceeded in walking away. Reluctant to leave the two alone, as he knew G-Money would probably take her off somewhere, which crawled on his nerves. But he went ahead and left anyway.

“So, now that he’s gone, you want me to take you somewhere?” G-Money said as he raised an eyebrow.

Pain looked up towards his face and tilted her head to the side. “Where?” She asked inquisitively.

He grinned arrogantly as he held his head and neck high within the air, then he began trotting off, clearly knowing she would follow him. To his expectance she was trailing close behind him. Her face was anxious as she cantered closer to him.

“G, where are we going?’ She asked with a slight panicked tone. Her eyes were wide and her ears were clutched tightly to her skull.

He cocked his deep red eye back to her and nod his head reassuringly to her. “Just trust me, okay. But don’t tell the others where we’re going, alright?” He said, his voice deep and raspy as always.

She followed closely behind him, her footing unsteady. She noticed he was starting to slow down, she all but collided into the back of him when he abruptly brought himself to a sudden halt. He gently turned his head back to look at her. When his eyes met hers, she lit up, realizing where he had brought her.

“Oh G…” She almost sighed his name as she gazed about this beautiful new area. “Where are we?” She asked with astonishment. Her eyes were nearly glowing at the sight of this magnificent place.

He chuckled lightly. “Well, I don’t think it has a name because few actually know about it this time of year, because in the Winter months this place is completely hidden by the tall snow trees and ice.” He explained gently, his words were kind to her.

“Why don’t you want me to tell the others about this place? There is food and…Water!” She shouted on the last sentence as she raced over to take a drink from the cool, crisp stream.

“It probably makes me wrong in not doing so, but they would just ruin it. I wanted to share this place with you and you only. This could be our getaway, where no one can bother us. It’s perfect, is it not?”

“G, I simply love it!” She said as she picked up her dripping chin and looked at him with soft eyes.”

He laughed as he peered down at her dribbling lips from the water. She blushed gently and wiped her face on her inner front leg. She looked up at him with kind eyes and smiled.

“I wish we didn’t ever have to leave this place.” She said wistfully as she gazed into the depths of the area.

“What makes it so special to you that makes you want to stay here forever?” He asked inquiringly.

Pain stopped and thought about her answer for a minute before speaking. She looked down at the ground as she pondered over her next words. When she finally looked back up to meet his eagerly awaiting eyes, she sported a thick blush on her cheeks.

“It’s not the fresh water, it’s not the lush grass, and it’s certainly not the silence and peacefulness of this lovely area…it’s you…” She admitted truthfully.

He drew his head back and blushed heavily at her reply. He chuckled as a respond, but was at a loss for words at that point.

“I could be in the Waste Lands and still be happy as long as I was with you, G.” She nod her head.

He went to nuzzle her nose softly, but she playfully started trotting away. “Catch me, G, catch me!” She shouted lightheartedly.

He gave chase to her, quickly being right behind her as she trot. Finally she broke into a gallop and dared him to keep up. To her surprise in three short strides he was already ahead of her and she could barely stay alongside him. He slowed his pace slightly to accommodate her so the two could run together. He would glance back every now and then to wink at her or crack a smirk. She would giggle each time he would look at her.

The two friends galloped and raced each other for what seemed hours, it wasn’t until the nightfall broke their fun. They both came to a sliding stop and halted themselves near the stream line. G-Money was able to catch his breath right away, but Pain’s chest heaved in and out rapidly as she fought to muster breath. She was completely wore out.

“Your legs are shaking, perhaps you should lay down for a bit and rest?” He noticed as he glimpsed down at her frail, scar covered legs.

“But the others, I am certain they are worried about us being gone for so very long, wouldn’t you?”

“Nah, and besides, what do you care what they think? You’re almost a mare now, you can do what you wish, and besides, I’m a man, so I can take care of you.” He said with a hint of humor in his tone.

Pain giggled femininely then turned and walked under a tree. She tucked in her shaken legs and plopped her delicate body onto the cool grass. She shivered as the cold ground touched her stomach. Her body seemed to tense.

“Cold?” He asked as he stood just above her. He looked down at her body with considerate eyes, he studied the scars along her shoulder and flank.

“I-it’s alright, I‘m not cold at all.” She said, her teeth chattering slightly as she spoke.

“Yeah, yeah, and I’m the king of the Dackle herd, so move over!” He mocked as he gently laid his large frame down next to hers. His substantial body seemed to all but dwarf her small stature frame as he laid next to her. Immediately she felt herself warming up.

The colors of russet and white collided together as he placed his neck over hers. His long dark chocolate colored mane draped over hers, mixing the two together as one. She blushed at his closeness.

“If this makes you uncomfortable then I can stop, I’m not thinking what most guys probably think, so don’t worry. My intentions are completely innocent, I assure you.” He explained thoughtfully.

“G, it’s fine, I know you wouldn’t do anything. I trust you completely.” She smiled up to his face that was just over hers as they laid side by side.

Shortly after, G-Money noticed that Pain had fallen asleep. Her breathing was sound and steady. He picked up his neck and looked down at her shoulder that now had his sweat on it. He chuckled to himself lightly, as not to wake her up.

“My intentions may be innocent, but my mind still can’t get over you…” He thought in his mind as he watched over her for the rest of the night.

Okay, I totally have a new favorite now, lol. Seriously, I actually really like this one, I've been working on it for days now. I like how it turned out (not bragging by any means) :giggle:

Anyway, I am sooo tired of typing now, so yeah. That's all I have to say right now. ;P

P.S. Neither of them were confessing their feelings, Pain was merely saying that she enjoys being with G, so don't none of you go thinking they're a couple now.
