Open Facts: Laces is very head-shy and seems highly fearful around other horses, even those whom are weaker than herself. Though she seems to hold most others in very high regard, she is very respectful and courteous, often stepping out of the way of others, even if they are in a lower rank than she.
-Despite her sometimes quirky and offbeat habits such as her unusual head tossing for no apparent reason, flinching when others speak too loudly, or how her voice tends to become high pitched and anxious when she is in large crowds, she is overall a very even-tempered horse.
-Her past events seem to still highly reflect who and how she is of today. She tends to reminisce over the things that took place back when she lived with her former owner, who was named Olga. She was a very cruel and vindictive young girl who grew up being spoiled by her parents who were very wealthy. She had begged her parents for a horse for a very long while until they finally relented and gave her what she wished for. They presented her with a beautiful horse who many people would have loved to have, the mare seemed like something so different due to her extraordinary eye coloring and uneven facial markings. They told her that the mare was very special and was just for her, but she didn’t want her due to her genetically incorrect eye coloring and disliked the uneven body markings she sported. Olga wanted perfection, something more like a Dressage horse, not this seemingly unacceptable Quarter Horse mare who knew nothing of English saddle work. Her parents threatened taking away the mare after seeing her displeasures with her new gift, and warned that she would not be getting another one, so she finally came around and began riding Laces reluctantly. The mare was born with a genetic defect that caused her eye coloring to actually reverse during development, making her eyes what should have been a pale blue, into a pale purple that stands out. But overall she is perfectly fine, but in spite of her unique eye coloring, this grants that she will never become anything more than a mere pleasure and trail horse, by no means a show horse, and this angered Olga. She grew to resent the horse that did so much for her, and it was all due to her being superficial of her mare’s eye color and facial markings that she felt ruined the stocky mare.

Private facts: One day Laces owner, Olga, took her out for a reluctant trail ride after her parents scolded her for not feeding her mare that morning nor the night prior. Olga wasn't known for being the best of horse owners, as she would cruelly beat poor Laces if she did so much as fail to step over a fallen tree branch correctly in Olga’s demanding eyes. On this one day it had been raining the entire morning so naturally the grounds were still somewhat soppy and flooded in areas. As her and Laces, or as she called her, “Feathers,” set off down the trail, Laces could tell that the rocks on the road were very slippery so she gently walked over to the grass so it would be safer for her lady rider in case she were to have taken a fall. However, Olga didn't like the fact the she blatantly disobeyed her to move closer to the grass, subsequently she pulled out her riding crop and began smacking Laces in the neck and shoulder. The mare just stood there taking it as she always did, never even flinching at the weak strikes against her. Despite the fact that she was only a mere child, Laces tolerated so much that came from the bratty girl, even though she could have easily bucked her off and ran away.
Later on that day they came across a small riverbank that they needed to cross over. Olga of course began beating Laces so she would go faster across the water. She tried her very best to make it through the murky water as fast as she possibly could, but while doing so she accidentally slipped on a rock and made Olga get wet from the water that had splashed up on her new designer jeans. Once they got on land she got off and whipped her repeatedly as hard as she could, striking her relentlessly. Finally, after having all the miserable treatment with all the harsh training by her parent’s professional trainers just to get her well trained enough to be presented to Olga in the first place, cruel words, being lunged every waking moment of her life to obtain “respect,” and being beat constantly by this little monster of an owner, she finally had enough of it all. After pondering over her next actions she reared up and broke free from Olga, then she raced away from her as fast as she possibly could, she never even looked back. She found herself awoken with a start, dazed and confused in Los Lobos where an old stallion named CrossHair took her in and made her feel apart of his herd. Though to this very day she will never forget Olga and her former life. It completely devastated her.

Character Info: She is very quiet and never speaks of her problems to anyone, but her emotions are fairly easy to read, so it is clear to all that she is regretful over something, but no one knows what.
-She constantly feels like a burden to her herd mates, so she tends to take the blame for every little thing.
-Laces is somewhat of a pessimist and a mellow-harsher. She only sees the bad in everything in life, which makes her a very negative mare.
-Her voice is very low toned and almost sounds like a whisper, and she speaks very eloquently and slow.

Ok, so Ration just got gender-bent and a new design. I completely realize that I need more mares in my series, so I have decided to replace him with this mare that is designed off of a mare named Fancy out at the stable that I board my horse at. I really like this gal a lot more than Ration, so I will more than likely be auctioning off Ration later.
